Marshall Academy All-State Honors

Dani Van Lente, a sophomore at Marshall Academy, competed June 5 at the MHSAA Division 4 track and field state finals at Hudsonville's Baldwin Middle School where Van Lente ran the 3,200 meters in a new Academy record of 12:49.28, good for 8th place, earning her a medal from the MHSAA as well as All-State recognition from MITCA (Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association). 

Van Lente is the first track athlete from Marshall Academy to earn All-State recognition. She qualified for the state finals by finishing second at the Division 4 regional meet hosted at Hillsdale College. In addition to holding the current Marshall Academy record for the 3,200 meters, she also hold the Academy records for the 800 and 1600 meters.

Van Lente also runs cross-country for the Tekonsha/Marshall Academy team. This past all she also qualified for the cross country state finals. 

Marshall Academy has been part of the co-op track and field program with Tekonsha since 2015, competing in the Southern Central Athletics Association.
